What is an FDN-P?
Understand your body, not just your symptoms.
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, explained.
If you've never heard of an FDN-P, you're not alone! Here's what the training involves, how I work, and what it's like to work with me.

The basics
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, in plain language.
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition is a wellness coaching approach. It looks at your nutrition, lifestyle, health history, and other information to help guide a plan that's right for you. FDN practitioners may be trained in functional lab assessments, but we don't replace licensed medical providers.

Made for you
Your plan is built around your history, your goals, and your real life.
The whole picture
Nutrition, stress, sleep, movement, and daily habits all affect each other, so we look at all of it.
Education first
You'll learn the reasoning behind each recommendation.
Within scope
Coaching and education, in partnership with your healthcare providers.
The framework
D.R.E.S.S. for Health Success®
Most FDN plans are built around five areas of everyday life, personalized to you. Testing and supplements are never required.

- Diet. Eating in a way that fits your body, your tastes, and your schedule.
- Rest. Sleep habits that give your body time to recover and reset.
- Exercise. Movement that supports you without wearing you out.
- Stress reduction. Practical ways to lighten the load on your body and mind.
- Supplementation. Extra support, only when it makes sense for you.
Scope
What I do, and what I don't.
What I do
I coach you on nutrition and lifestyle, help you understand wellness-related information, and support you in building habits that last. I can talk through relevant testing within my training and scope, and I encourage you to work alongside your healthcare providers.
What I don't do
I don't diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication, and I don't replace medical treatment, your doctor, or any licensed healthcare provider.

Alongside your care
Working with your doctor, not instead of them.
Lots of my clients already see a doctor or another provider, and that's great. With your written permission, I can share a summary with them, and if something calls for medical attention, I'll tell you and encourage you to follow up with them.
Questions you might have
Is an FDN-P a doctor?
No, I'm a certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner. My work is educational and doesn't diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions or replace care from your healthcare provider.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Nope. You can book a discovery call on your own. And if you're already working with a provider, I'm happy to work alongside them.
Is testing required?
No. Testing is optional, and I only suggest it when I think it would truly help.
Can I work with you while I see my doctor?
Absolutely. Please keep seeing your provider, and check with them before changing any medications or supplements.
